LEE Chamberlin Consultant Engineers, Inc. is always seeking new employees to join our growing team. Civil Engineer

A civil engineer with LEE Chamberlin helps design roadways, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and water lines for private developments and public works projects. As a full-time employee, they assist in the preparation of drawings, documents, details, schedules, or specifications using programs such as MicroStation, Power Civil, Hydrology Studio, and Stormwater Studio. Additionally, they will operate as a project manager in the office, assisting to coordinate the efforts of our employees and make sure projects are completed correctly and efficiently. They’ll prepare construction documents and records and observe and inspect work performed by contractors ensuring compliance of specs, drawing, code, and safety. Further, they will communicate and collaborate with contractors, clients, and other LEE Chamberlin team members in a positive and professional manner, along with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in an accredited civil engineering program, 10+ years of experience, a professional engineer license in the State of Iowa required, among other qualities. Contact LEE Chamberlin for more information.

Engineer in Training

An Engineer in Training is a full-time position whose focus is to build up engineering experience through preparing drawings, documents, details, schedules, or specifications using programs such as MicroStation and Power Civil, along with preparing construction documents and records. Operating under our Senior Engineer and Senior Engineering Technician, they operate plan and document reproduction equipment and observe and inspect work performed by contractors, ensuring compliance of specs, drawing, code, and safety. They inspect construction sites for quality to report any variances and communicate and collaborate with contractors, clients, and other LEE Chamberlin team members in a positive and professional manner. Finally, they may assist survey technicians in survey fieldwork including the operation of Trimble GPS equipment, among other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications include an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree(or working toward one) in an accredited civil engineering technology program, 1-5 years of experience, 1-5 years of experience in the programs mentioned above, along with other skills. Civil Engineering Technician

A civil engineering technician is a full-time position that prepares drawings, documents, details, schedules, or specifications using programs such as MicroStation and Power Civil, along with preparing construction documents and records. In addition, they operate plan and document reproduction equipment and observe and inspect work performed by contractors, ensuring compliance of specs, drawing, code, and safety. They inspect construction sites for quality to report any variances and communicate and collaborate with contractors, clients, and other LEE Chamberlin team members in a positive and professional manner. Finally, they assist survey technicians in survey fieldwork including the operation of Trimble GPS equipment, among other duties as assigned.

Professional Land Surveyor

LEE Chamberlin is looking for a full-time professional land surveyor. A person in this position conducts a combination of research, fieldwork, and multiple office functions to ensure they are in direct supervision of preparing the final land survey documents. They’ll perform thorough research of land records from government offices or online resources and complete boundary calculations using fundamental survey principles and practices to establish property, R.O.W., and easement lines. Further, they prepare land survey documents that may include: boundary retracements surveys, plat of surveys, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, easement /acquisition plants, and final plats with associated legal descriptions. Finally, they will prepare land survey documents to ensure they are in compliance with State and local ordinances, along with a title and abstract review.

 

Qualifications needed for this position include a professional licensed surveyor status, a minimum of five years of experience land surveying in Iowa, and the understanding of coordinating systems and vertical datums.

Survey Crew Chief

A survey crew chief is a full-time position that completes all assigned tasks in a timely fashion, is diligent in field procedures, and maintains company standards at all times. They supervise additional staff members assisting in survey assignments. The types of surveys performed include ALTA/ACSM Land Titles Surveys, Route Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Staking. Survey crew chiefs adhere to QA/QC procedures and note-taking, along with following instructions/work orders from project managers. 

 

Qualifications for survey crew chiefs include proficiency with Trimble GPS, Trimble Robotic Total Stations (S7), Trimble (TSC3 & 7) and TDS Ranger Data Collectors, 5-10 years of survey crew chief experience including ALTA and Sectional Boundary surveys, a valid driver’s license, among other qualifications and skills. General Laborer and Survey Crew Member

LEE Chamberlin is looking for a skilled and reliable general laborer that is self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. A person in this full-time position completes tasks in a timely and efficient manner under minimal supervision and willingness to follow oral and written directions closely.
